About the Artist

Laura M. Bonazza, a native of West Virginia with a lifelong passion for art and design, received her degree in interior design from Fairmont State College. Following her move to Maryland with her husband in 1986, she enjoyed a career as a designer in the DC area while starting a family.

In 1991, Laura returned home to West Virginia along with her husband and two sons.

After devoting her time to raising her children and working in a family business, she rediscovered her love for creating art inspired by the natural beauty and unique culture of her beloved state.

Having sold and exhibited her works both online and in local shops and galleries for several years now, Laura's professional journey has come full circle - from following her dreams in design to finding fulfillment through creative expression.

Artist Statement

When creating art, my intention is to evoke emotions, foster connections, and provide comfort, excitement, or inspiration. For me, this often involves exploring different mediums and techniques.

One of my painting styles, born from a desire for relaxation or meditation, incorporates precise dots in varying sizes, demanding extreme concentration and focus. I describe this method as a modern twist on the age-old style of Pointillism. In addition to this dotting technique, I often use various shapes to create shadows and depth, as well as traditional blending methods.

I strive to evolve as an artist by continuing to learn and explore new dimensions of my creativity.
